DESCRIPTION

Hotel España Ocean Drive is located in the heart of Barcelona’s historic center, next to the Gran Teatre del Liceu and Las Ramblas.

The hotel originally opened its doors in 1859 under the name Fonda de España and was later renovated by the renowned Modernist architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner at the beginning of the 20th century. Today, as part of OD Hotels, The Neighbormood Hotels, it stands as a benchmark for both guests and locals, combining its architectural heritage with a new concept of hospitality connected to the neighborhood and local culture.

Renovated in 2026, it restores the spirit originally envisioned by Domènech i Montaner. Modernist spaces highlight the sgraffito frescoes by Ramón Casas in the Salon de las Sirenas and the fireplace by the sculptor Eusebi Arnau.

Hotel España offers 82 fully renovated rooms with a style that evokes its architectural legacy; its historic restaurant, Fonda España, is led by the acclaimed 12-Michelin-star Chef Martin Berasategui. The hotel also complements its gastronomic offering with Dorita Cocktail Bar and Dorita Club, showcasing signature mixology. Its Skybar, located on the top floor, is open year-round and serves both food and drinks.
